If you love baking and cooking, and want to eat better, and treat your bodies with healthy foods, and like having an e-cookbook on your tablet, smartphone or computer all the time, then this cookbook is definitely for you!
In particular, I wrote this e-cookbook for those who need to go on a low-glycemic index diet because of the danger of being diagnosed with Type-2 diabetes, or those who are trying to reverse their Type-2 diabetes. I also wrote it for Celiacs who can’t eat gluten and want delicious wholesome foods.
Why I wrote this e-cookbook
Intrigued by the claims in Wheat Belly, I began searching for grain-free recipes to try, and as I started moving away from a diet high in carbohydrates and sugars to one that was mostly grain-free, as well as avoiding processed foods as much as possible, I found that I was also gradually feeling better.
Mainly, for my mum
这样的事实,我所以接近失去妈妈hocked me into action. I was determined to help her find her way back to health. I remembered the claims in Wheat Belly that stated that diabetics should follow a low-glycemic index in order not to cause unhealthy spikes in their blood sugar level.
I began posting more and more grain-free recipes on the blog. Mainly, I posted recipes of foods that my mum would be able to make and eat without fear of causing unhealthy spikes in her blood sugar levels. I managed to convince my mum to move to a low-glycemic index diet (and to eat grain-free foods as much as possible).
After changing her diet, my mum lost 14 pounds, dropped two dress sizes, as well as showed great improvement in her hemoglobin A1c test (a test which measures a 90-day average of a person’s blood sugar levels).
At first, I thought that the grain-free recipes I posted only benefited my mum.
I cannot deny that we are what we eat, and it is of utmost importance that we be selective about the food we put into our bodies. The effect of food in our lives is crystal-clear to me.
I realized that I wanted to and could make a difference by compiling some of the best grain-free recipes on the blog into a digital cookbook – one that people could easily refer to, carry with them in their tablets and smartphones, or open on their computers. I wanted these grain-free recipes to be used and shared by those who made them – not just stay on the blog – and help people enjoy good health.
These are the recipes that have found their way from the kitchen to my table; recipes that have been shared with my friends and loved ones. Recipes that are meant to be used over and over again – to be tweaked and modified to your preferences and tastes. Recipes that I know you will enjoy as much as I do.
